What a great and ingenious concept! This is what our agrarian ancestors did - they used everything to their advantage. Today, we have so many wasteful by-products that could be used for other purposes, even helpful applications. For instance, we frequently use horse or chicken manure to fertilize our garden. Though this year, our seedlings were devoured by those pesky squirrels! I appreciate all the tomatoes and vegies I received from others. Nothing is like home-grown vegetables!

I think a project like this could be a great 4-H project! Just thinking out loud.
